I know, veggies aren't usually foods that make people swoon. But I've started eating healthier (need to balance out all that cheese), and you know, some veggies are downright delish. Carrots and green beans and cauliflower, oh my!

Fruits get more affection from me. I'm a big fan of strawberry banana smoothies at the moment!

You know the song from The Sound of Music that goes, "These are a few of my favorite things"? I was humming that the other day and thinking of MY favorite things, and ... the list included a lot of cheeses.

I'm a cheeseaholic. I think the cheese board is an art form. My very favorite cheese is cheddar so sharp it'll cut you, but I'm a fan of most of them, even the smellier ones (if you think you don't like blue cheese, try it with a fruit jam! SOGOOD)

Anyway, here's to all you other cheese-lovers out there :)

Foreign food

After ten years of no international travel, last year I went to Italy (with my mom and my husband & his family) and Germany (with my husband, on a work trip. In December. BRR! But pretty, with the Christmas markets. Yay glühwein!)

Of course, I tried to study in advance for these trips, and build my vocab. Important travel vocab consists largely of food, obviously!

The other languages are Spanish, French, German, and Italian. Not necessarily in that order, of course!
